about

The Grimm Generation’s debut album, 'The Last Record Party' opens with the lines 'Watch the love story. Watch the horror picture…' and closes with the lines 'Shimmy and Shake, Shudder and Break, Leave it all on the dance floor'… and they do. And with that we have a year in the life of The Grimm Generation. What starts out to be a record about empty people having empty relationships ('Sometimes I’m Subtle (Sometimes I’m Drunk') evolves into something deeper; a 'Scene Report' from the suburbs facing restless youth ('The End Of The World'), dark days of the economy ('Book Of Day Job'), aging gracelessly ('Hipster + 10'), raw sex ('Pull The Trigger'), taking chances ('Well, Why Wouldn't You?') and ultimately, victory ('The Last Record Party'); even if 'victory' is defined by 'living to fight another year'.
